Greetings Fellow Postmasters and LEAGUE Members

Activity has resumed on our long-term effort the update to work service credit system. After a period of inactivity, 4 meetings have been held at Headquarters within the last 2 months. Progress is being made but we still have some major hurdles to cross before an agreement can be made. Postmaster salaries and retirements are at stake. I’m working closely with NAPUS National President Dale Goff and we are on the same page in our effort to recognize and reward the additional duties and responsibilities Postmasters have assumed over the years. We’ll keep you posted as progress is made.

Accounting Service Center Town Hall Meeting

I’ll be participating in a "Town Hall" meeting with employees of the Accounting Services Centers (ASC’s). They are the people that answer the phones at the Accounting Help Desk.

I will be polling our leaders, but invite you to respond to this E-mail concerning any experiences you have encountered in the field when using the Help Desk. They are soliciting our feedback on what works or what could be improved. There are 3 Accounting Service Centers and they are responsible for payroll, accounting, money orders, claims payouts and vendors among other things.

Convention Season progressing

State conventions are in full swing and I’m encouraged with the attendance and participation I’m seeing at the state level. We are seeing an increase in the number of 1st timers. We’re also seeing great interest in our National Convention in Nashville. Our room block is rapidly filling, so I encourage you to make your plans today. You should by now have received your June copy of the Postmasters Advocate. Our focus was "raising revenue one Postmaster at a time" so be sure to check out the revenue tips from your fellow Postmasters. Thanks to all that contributed ideas.
