Greetings Fellow Postmasters and LEAGUE Members

Dear Leaguers,

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each of you! Thanks for the great job that you’ve all done this Christmas season and throughout the year. You’ve done so much more, with so much less. This is the first Post Office Christmas season that I’ve missed in 25 years. It was, in spite of the crowds and extreme busy-ness, my favorite time of year. I just missed what I would kiddingly refer to as, “Fatten the Postmaster Week”, that week where, my customers would bring in a seemingly endless stream of homemade cookies and candies and other small tokens of love and thank you for a job well done. The lobby of my post office became our town’s center of good will; it pulsated with the spirit of the season! I know that lobby scene was replicated thousands of times over in your own post office lobbies.

Here at League Headquarters, we’ve still got dozens of issues to deal with that affect Postmasters, OIC, retirees, and PMRs, but for today, I’ll keep the message simple. I am proud to be one of you, to be able to call myself Postmaster. May the blessings of this beautiful time of year be with each of you and your families!
